Scripps Center for Bariatric Surgery
The Scripps Mercy Center for Bariatric Surgery is the region's oldest Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, as recognized by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). What sets the Scripps Pacific Bariatric program apart is the support provided to patients, from introductory informational sessions to pre- and post-surgical consultations with a variety of specialists and ongoing lifelong support.
Surgery and immediate post-operative care take place at Scripps Mercy Hospital, a 700-bed, full-service acute-care facility in San Diego and a designated Bariatric Center of Excellence. In a newly refurbished unit, you’ll receive care and support from Scripps Mercy's dedicated staff that have been specially trained to recognize and meet your unique needs throughout your hospital stay.
Patients particularly appreciate the special touches including furniture and equipment they can fit into comfortably, hospital gowns in larger sizes and a clinically accurate scale designed to accommodate up to 880 lbs.
