William D. Fuller, M.D.
William D. Fuller, MD, is a board-certified surgeon at Scripps Clinic with several office locations throughout San Diego County. He is an experienced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon performing gastric bypass, gastric banding and sleeve gastrectomy. He has additional clinical interests including robotic surgery, single-incision (scarless) surgical techniques and advanced research and development in minimally invasive surgery, including the development of innovative surgical instruments and operating techniques.
Dr. Fuller completed his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, followed by a residency in general surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center. He completed fellowship training in advanced minimally invasive surgery at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, where he stayed on as faculty and attending surgeon for four years.
As a compassionate and highly skilled advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon, Dr. Fuller believes the key to every patient’s best outcome is a relationship built on trust and respect. As a result, he believes in treating each weight loss surgery patient as though they were a family member, with great attention, focus and care.
Dr. Fuller is board-certified in general surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a distinction reserved for those physicians whose education, training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have been reviewed and found to be consistent with the high standards set by the college.
